| Atlantic Bluefin TunaOrden AAA/642/2013, artículo 18; Real Decreto 347/2011, anexo II; Xunta, Orde do 27.07.2012, Anexo I-E | DILARANG — dilarang menyimpan — National, and it overrides anything the comunidad allows. | ||
| THE TRAP HERE IS GALICIAN, NOT NATIONAL. The Xunta lists "Atún Rojo o de Aleta Azul (Thunnus thynnus)" among the species a recreational licence covers, and sets a 25 kg per licence per day allowance for "grandes pelágicos — túnidos y pez espada o especies afines". Read alone that looks like permission to keep bluefin. It is not: retention is prohibited nationwide and every tuna caught must go back alive. The 25 kg allowance is for the OTHER large pelagics (albacore, bigeye, bonito). Catch-and-release of bluefin is possible only 16 June – 14 October and only with the Anexo II authorisation under Real Decreto 347/2011; outside that window even catch-and-release is closed. The 115 cm / 30 kg minimum size printed in the Xunta's Anexo I-E exists only for the accidental-mortality exception and must not be read as a keep size. See ES_PACK for the full national treatment. | |||
| Atlantic MackerelOrde do 27 de xullo de 2012, Anexo I-A; Reglamento (UE) 2019/1241 Anexo VII Parte A | — | min 20 cm | — |
| 20 cm. The Galician row covers the genus ("Xardas | Scomber spp"), so it also binds the chub mackerel / estornino (Scomber colias). The EU figure for south-western waters is likewise 20 cm and applies expressly to recreational fishing; the Mediterranean figure is 18 cm and Catalonia sets 28 cm. ES_PACK already publishes 20 cm nationally, so this pack does not change what a Galician angler sees — it just gives it a Galician source. | |||
| CONFLICT, RESOLVED THE STRICT WAY — AND THE BOUNDARY IS NOW PINNED DOWN. Galicia's own order publishes 36 cm ("Robaliza | Dicentrarchus labrax | 36 cm"). Reglamento (UE) 2019/1241, Anexo VII Parte A, prints 36 cm for south-western waters as a whole and then adds, in the paragraph that closes Parte A, a SEPARATE RECREATIONAL figure of 42 cm that applies "en la subzona 8 del CIEM". Galicia straddles the ICES 8/9 line, and the 2026-08-11 re-verification located that line in an official Galician source for the first time: the Xunta's own anchovy footnote on the same size table fixes it at CABO FISTERRA — "o tamaño mínimo do bocarte (Engraulis encrasicolus) será de 10 cm na zona IX CIEM (Fisterra sur) e 12 cm na zona VIII CIEM (Fisterra norte)". Fisterra is at roughly 42.91 °N, so FishRadar's two Galician spots fall on OPPOSITE SIDES OF IT: A Coruña (43.37 °N) is ICES 8 and takes 42 cm; Vigo and the Rías Baixas (42.24 °N) are ICES 9 and take 36 cm. `SpeciesRule` has no zone field and one pack must serve both, so this publishes the stricter 42 cm. IF YOU ARE SOUTH OF FISTERRA THE LEGAL MINIMUM IS 36 cm and a 38 cm fish is lawful — check the Xunta table before releasing one. This is the same figure ES_PACK carries nationally. No Galician daily count exists for bass; the 5 kg per licence per day cap in aggregateLimits is what binds you. | |||
| PollockOrde do 27 de xullo de 2012, Anexo I-A; Reglamento (UE) 2019/1241 Anexo VII Parte A | — | min 30 cm | — |
| 30 cm; the EU south-western-waters recreational MCRS is also 30 cm. Sources agree. | |||
Gabungan semua spesies
- maksimum 5 kg total per hari — THE GALICIAN LIMIT IS A WEIGHT, AND IT IS THE RULE MOST OFTEN BROKEN. Five kilograms per licence per day across everything you keep, in every modality. One single piece heavier than the cap may be excluded from the calculation and you may hold only ONE such piece. From a 7th-list boat the same 5 kg per licence applies with a ceiling of 16 kg for the whole boat per day once more than three licence holders are aboard; from a 6th-list boat it is 5 kg per person. Large pelagics — tunas and swordfish "o especies afines" — have their own 25 kg per licence per day allowance with a 50 kg per boat per day ceiling when two or more licence holders are aboard, but bluefin may not be retained at all and swordfish is nationally prohibited. Octopus is capped at two pieces per fisher per day. GEAR: two rods or lines per licence with a maximum of six hooks in total; artificial lures count as hooks; the rasca or rañeira is excluded and anything else is antirregulamentario. BAIT you may collect: 50 polychaetes, 40 crabs (Pachygrapsus marmoratus and Carcinus maenas combined), 200 g of sand hoppers, 100 g of shrimp — and the common prawn Palaemon serratus may NOT be taken. TIMES: surface fishing is allowed every day of the year, but boat fishing and spearfishing are daylight only, between sunrise and sunset; spearfishing is additionally restricted to Saturdays, Sundays and national or Galician public holidays, except from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday and from 1 May to 30 September when it is allowed daily. PLACES: surface fishing is prohibited within 100 m of beaches in use by bathers and boats must stay 100 m from working fishing vessels and marked professional gear; spearfishing is prohibited inside every ría behind the lines listed by the Xunta and within 250 m of the Coelleiras, Farallóns, Ansarón, Aguillóns, Sisargas, Lobeiras and As Basoñas islands. Catches may never be sold. THE LICENCE COVERS ONLY CEPHALOPODS AND FISH: percebe, nécora, centola, ameixa and every other crustacean or bivalve require a marisqueo licence, not this one.
Perizinan:
Autorización de concursos e campionatos: 24,81 €., non-penduduk Licences issued by the Spanish State, by another EU Member State or by another autonomous community are fully valid in Galician waters — the Xunta states this explicitly — but their holders must still comply with the Galician rules in this pack. Note that this is NOT reciprocal with Catalonia, which since Ley 5/2023 only recognises licences from the same fishing ground (calador): a Galician licence is not valid on the Catalan coast. Under-16s are exempt from the surface licence but must be able to prove their age to the Servizo de Protección de Recursos; under-16s who are not emancipated need parental consent for the spearfishing licence.
FishRadar non publica as tarifas de licenza continental: non foron consultadas nunha páxina oficial nesta sesión., non-penduduk Same continental licence requirement. In the stretches of the Eo and Navia shared with Asturias, Mondays AND Thursdays are closed days except national holidays, and the Eo carries its own minimum sizes (25 cm trout, 25 cm sea trout) and quotas.
Andalucía exige adicionalmente declarar sus especies objetivo antes del final del día natural, un plazo más corto que el estatal., non-penduduk Non-residents need the same regional recreational licence, the same registration from 10 January 2026 and the same DAILY PescaREC declaration from 20 March 2026 — within 24 hours of the end of each session, separately for each non-continuous session, and including released fish and blank sessions. Anexo II species additionally require a state authorisation issued to the vessel owner. Note that a licence issued by one autonomous community is not necessarily valid in another: since Ley 5/2023 recognition follows the fishing ground (calador), so an Atlantic licence does not cover the Mediterranean coast and vice versa, and Catalonia does not recognise EU-issued licences at all.
Galicia has TWO rulebooks. Sea fishing inside the rías and along the coast follows Decreto 211/1999 and the Xunta minimum-size order of 27 July 2012; rivers, reservoirs and estuary mouths follow Ley 2/2021 and an ANNUAL order that is remade every December — the 2026 one closes salmon in the whole of Galicia. The recreational sea licence covers only cephalopods and fish, and not eel: shellfish require a separate marisqueo licence. The binding limit at sea is a weight, 5 kg per licence per day, not a per-species count, with a two-piece cap on octopus and a separate 25 kg allowance for large pelagics. Bluefin tuna and swordfish may not be retained anywhere in Spain even though the Xunta lists them as capturable species. Where the Galician figure and the EU figure differ, FishRadar publishes the stricter one. Always verify with the Xunta de Galicia before you fish.
