| Atlantic Bluefin TunaOrden AAA/642/2013, artículo 18; Real Decreto 347/2011, anexo II; artículos 7.3 y 9.5 del Decreto 205/2023 | 禁止 — 禁止保留 — National and directly applicable in Andalusian interior waters. Article 7.3 of Decreto 205/2023 confirms that species under differentiated protection may only be taken by a holder of the specific State authorisation of article 10 of Real Decreto 347/2011, and article 9.5 defers their daily caps to State law. | ||
| ZERO RETENTION. The Strait of Gibraltar and the Cádiz coast are the classic Spanish bluefin grounds and FishRadar lists Atlantic Bluefin Tuna as a headline species for both `es-malaga` and `es-cadiz-atlantic`; that is a biological statement, not a legal one. All tuna caught must be returned alive. Catch-and-release is possible only 16 June – 14 October and only with the Anexo II authorisation; outside that window even catch-and-release is closed. See ES_PACK for the full national treatment. | |||
| Atlantic BonitoAnexo III.b) del Decreto 205/2023; ausencia de talla en los Anexos VII y IX del Reglamento (UE) 2019/1241 | — | — | — |
| NO SIZE PUBLISHED. "Bonito del Sur (Sarda sarda)" is a declarable target species in the Mediterranean ground under Anexo III.b); no EU or Andalusian minimum size exists. Catalonia sets 40 cm and five fish per day for the same species. Only the 5 kg cap binds. | |||
| Atlantic MackerelArtículo 8.1 del Decreto 205/2023 (remisión); Reglamento (UE) 2019/1241 Anexo VII y Anexo IX Parte A | — | min 20 cm | — |
| TWO FIGURES, STRICTER PUBLISHED: 20 cm in south-western waters (Anexo VII, expressly applicable to recreational fishing) and 18 cm in the Mediterranean (Anexo IX). FishRadar lists Atlantic Mackerel as a headline species for `es-cadiz-atlantic`, which sits in the 20 cm zone. | |||
| European SeabassArtículo 8.1 del Decreto 205/2023 (remisión); Reglamento (UE) 2019/1241 Anexo VII Parte A (36 cm) y Anexo IX Parte A (25 cm); artículo 2.1.b) de la Orden de 13 de enero de 2023 (36 cm en aguas continentales) | — | min 36 cm | — |
| 36 cm, and here the ICES ambiguity that clouds Galicia does NOT arise: Anexo III of the Andalusian decree identifies the Atlantic ground itself as "Caladero del Golfo de Cádiz (CIEM IXa)", so the ICES subarea 8 recreational figure of 42 cm is not in play. On the Mediterranean side Anexo IX of the same EU regulation sets 25 cm, so FishRadar publishes the stricter 36 cm for the whole comunidad. THERE IS NO ANDALUSIAN DAILY COUNT FOR BASS — the binding limit is the 5 kg per licence per day in aggregateLimits. Bass IS on Anexo III in both grounds, so every bass you catch, kept or released, must be declared before the end of the calendar day. THE SAME 36 cm APPLIES IN FRESH WATER: article 2.1.b of the Orden de 13 de enero de 2023 sets its own list of continental minimum sizes and puts bass at 36 cm too — "Lubina (Dicentrarchus labrax): 36 cm" — alongside albur (Liza spp) 25 cm, baila (Dicentrarchus punctatus) 36 cm, capitán (Mugil cephalus) 25 cm, liseta (Chelon labrosus) 25 cm and platija (Platichthys flesus) 25 cm. So a bass taken in the Guadalquivir carries the same minimum as one taken off Cádiz. | |||
- 每天总计最多5公斤 — FIVE KILOGRAMS LIVE WEIGHT PER LICENCE PER DAY — or four kilograms gutted — with the weight of ONE piece excluded from the calculation whatever modality you fish. If you have caught only fish you may hold one piece over the cap; if you have caught ONLY CEPHALOPODS the cap is instead SIX PIECES per licence per day. With more than five licences aboard one vessel the whole boat is capped at 25 kg per day, again excluding one piece. Species under differentiated protection follow the State cap. The cap is per DAY however long you fish, and every licence holder whose catch is aboard, on the quay or in the vehicle must be present. GEAR: up to six hooks distributed over two rods per licence from shore, or six hooks over a maximum of two rods or handlines from a boat; jigs and double and treble hooks count as ONE hook each, and each artificial lure counts as one hook. MARKING: every capture must be marked immediately with a cut removing part of the lower lobe of the caudal fin, or, for squid and cuttlefish, by cutting off one fin; species with venomous fin rays are exempt. Catches must be landed whole or merely gutted and scaled, NEVER beheaded. DECLARATION: the Anexo III target species must be declared before the end of the calendar day on which the session ended, through the Junta app or the Registro Electrónico Único — this is an ANDALUSIAN obligation and is separate from, and earlier in the day than, the national PescaREC 24-hour rule. TIMES: surface fishing at any hour on any day of the year; spearfishing daylight only, sunrise to sunset, and never in ports, docks, anchorages, navigation channels or shipping lanes. DISTANCES: recreational boats must keep 300 m from professional vessels under 12 m, 926 m from those over 12 m, 500 m from tuna rod-and-line boats, 148 m from set professional gear, 200 m from aquaculture perimeters, 250 m from bathing zones and from shore or spear anglers' marker buoys, and 30 m from each other; spearfishers must keep 250 m from people on beaches, bathing or busy areas, port areas and navigation channels, and 250 m from professional gear and vessels and from aquaculture installations, and must be marked at all times by a red or orange buoy flying the "Alfa" flag. PROHIBITED PRACTICES include selling the catch, transferring catches between licence holders, artificial lights other than a hand torch for spearfishing, DRONES, torpedoes and kites for placing bait, powered reels or haulers unless the licence holder has a recognised disability, and killing a capture for any purpose other than eating it.
Same regional licence. The decree expressly contemplates fishing from vessels flagged in another EU Member State. Note the asymmetry with the other two packs: Catalonia recognises Andalusian licences only for its own Mediterranean fishing ground and not at all for EU-issued licences, while Galicia recognises State, EU and other-comunidad licences without restriction. Species under differentiated protection (Anexo II of Real Decreto 347/2011, e.g. bluefin tuna) additionally require the State authorisation, valid at the moment of capture and carried during the activity.
Same continental licence requirement. Andalucía shares trout waters with Castilla-La Mancha (río Zumeta and several cotos), where the open season differs — 1 April to 30 September on the free stretch of the Zumeta against 1 May to 15 October generally.
Non-residents need the same regional recreational licence, the same registration from 10 January 2026 and the same DAILY PescaREC declaration from 20 March 2026 — within 24 hours of the end of each session, separately for each non-continuous session, and including released fish and blank sessions. Anexo II species additionally require a state authorisation issued to the vessel owner. Note that a licence issued by one autonomous community is not necessarily valid in another: since Ley 5/2023 recognition follows the fishing ground (calador), so an Atlantic licence does not cover the Mediterranean coast and vice versa, and Catalonia does not recognise EU-issued licences at all.
Andalucía sets almost no minimum sizes of its own at sea: Decreto 205/2023 imports them from EU Regulation 2019/1241, and they differ between the Gulf of Cádiz ground (ICES IXa) and the Mediterranean ground (GFCM GSA-1 and GSA-2). Where the two differ FishRadar shows the stricter figure. What Andalucía does set is a prohibited-species list that catches visitors out: OCTOPUS, all crustaceans, all bivalves, sea urchins, John Dory and swordfish may not be taken at all, and only squid and cuttlefish survive among the molluscs. Bluefin tuna may not be retained anywhere in Spain. Every capture must be marked immediately by cutting part of the lower lobe of the tail fin and landed whole or gutted, never beheaded, and the target species of Anexo III must be declared before the end of the day. The cap is 5 kg live weight per licence per day, or six pieces if you have caught only cephalopods. In fresh water only a fixed list of species may be fished, trout and barbel are catch-and-release only, and tench may not be fished at all. Always verify with the Junta de Andalucía before you fish.
