Licensing:

• saltwater-recreational — residents Thailand does NOT require a recreational fishing licence or permit for rod-and-line angling in public waters (for Thai nationals or visitors). However, all fishing is PROHIBITED inside marine national parks, protected/reserved species may never be taken, and area/gear restrictions under the Royal Ordinance on Fisheries B.E. 2558 (2015) may apply. Private fishing parks set their own entry fees and rules., non-residents Visiting anglers do not need a recreational licence for rod fishing in public waters, but the same prohibitions apply: no fishing inside marine national parks (fines apply per person aboard the vessel), and no taking of protected species. Confirm local rules with the Department of Fisheries and, for national-park waters, the Department of National Parks (DNP).
